Good Morning Truth Seekers! It is beautiful snow filled day in Belleville. I hope you caught in your reading. Isaiah 17-19 continues God's dealing with those countries and armies who have come against his people. 17 speaks against Syria and apparently Ephraim. Jacobs glory fading points to the army growing smaller and weaker. But in the midst of destruction there will be a remnant of the faithful who seek the Lord and he provides for. (6-8) Chapter 18 speaks of a people who will beat up on the people of God until he intervenes on their behalf and defend and destroy the enemy. Lastly Egypt will be brought down. But eventually worship of God will even be in Egypt. This is a prophecy that the Gospel will be preached there. We know Jesus goes to Egypt for refuge, and eventually the message is believed there. In that time Assyria and Egypt will get along with Assyria.
Mark 5:1-20: tells of the demons who falls at Jesus' feet and begs him not to send them out from the region or back to where they belong. Jesus grants them passage into pigs and the pigs drown in water. The tragedy is that the people are more concerned with their business or pigs than the man being healed and delivered. Note that Jesus tells this man to go tell what God has done for him, verses before, not to tell anyone. I wonder what has happened to this witness. Is it that we are more concerned with our business rather than the salvation of men? When was the last time you gave a full witness and invited someone to follow Jesus.
