Genesis 10-15 Romans 4-5
Good Morning Truth Seekers! I had to catch up on a my reading this morning and it was a lot, but worth it. Please do not get caught up on all of the names. Usually when you see such a list it is leading to an introduction to someone at the end. Getting to 11-12 tower of babel and Abraham really begins to open up the history of our faith. Abram and Sarai are the first family of faith and we each need to know their story to appreciate much of the New Testament. Take your time and see how God made promises to Abram and delivered on them. In Gen 13:14 God again says he would give him offspring that as plenteous as the dust of the earth. In 14: 20 we see tithe for the first time. And in 15 God cut a covenant with Abram: the significance is that God swears on his own life. The cutting of the animals was to indicate that if he failed to keep his promise he would tear himself apart limb by limb. These are very important in our history. Romans 4-5 gets right to doctrine that many of our beliefs are based on. Additionally, it gives comparisons of the first Adam and the Second Adam (Jesus) when it comes to sin and righteousness. I hope you enjoy this reading as I did. Hey remember that God keeps His promises and ask yourself, " Can you say the same?" Praise God for the Great time in Worship!

It was a great time in worship and I'm glad to have been a part. It humbles you when you realize that you could of missed where God was moving.
ReplyDeleteThe reading is a bit much for me, but I hope that everyone else stays the course and continues to READ and SHARE; cause processing through the text is the only way this works for me.
Toodles!
Joe you had several Questions: Abraham was chosen and therefore Why God spoke to him. Even though Lot did not consult with God. Abrahams faith was shown when he let Lot choose. And remember God's promise to Abram was going to be over time. Don't forget it 25 years before Isaac.
