Good Morning Truth Seekers! Let us Worship the Lord; for he is Good! The word for todays reading is shame, shame, shame! I am talking about Jacob and his mother taking advantage of Isaac in his old age. Their approach to this has always boggled my mind. God told Rebekah that the older would serve the younger. I believe in my heart that this is impatience on Rebekah's part. We see this same spirit in Sarah helping God in Genesis 16; I want to say be hopeful, not helpful. God does not need our help! Now as a result no glory for God and none for Jacob. He has his father's blessing but cannot enjoy it. A time when he should be celebrating and preparing to lead his family; he has to flee. I truly believe that God will not share his glory. Jacob delays his destiny by having to now flee to Laban's. Again, we see even in the midst of Jacob fleeing God is still with him. 28:13 Jacob vows to worship God in that place if God would be with him and bring him back home again someday. Don't Miss Isaac's instruction to Jacob not to marry a Hittite or Canaanite woman.
Romans 9:Paul is convincing that God has a plan for the Israelites. His hope is that all of this that has happened in the life of Israel will lead them to belief in Jesus as the Christ. Be encouraged; God has a plan for your life, too. Can you see the hand of God in your life?

Good Morning,
ReplyDeleteBecause I sign in before you do, it's hard for me to respond to your blogs in real time. I just wanted to say though that the comment you made at the end of service yesterday about Hagar finally "getting it" ... that just resounded in my spirit so completely. We spend so much time and effort trying to understand it and help God fix it that we miss what He really wants us to know. That HE SEES US AND KNOWS THE PLANS HE HAS FOR US. It's when we finally see Him that the breakthrough happens.
