Good morning Truth Seekers! I seem to have gotten ahead of myself not noticing the half chapter of reading on yesterday for Romans. Sorry! Genesis 23 is a groundswell of faith from Abraham. You might be asking how given the death of his wife. Abrahams determination to buy the burial site is significant. It was tradition that only tribal members could be buried where they lived. Abraham is saying Im from here! He is by faith acknowledging that God promised to give him and his offspring the land he was living in; the land of the Hittites. You will see this same request of Jacob who will make his children promise to take his bones out of Egypt and into the promised land. Chapter 24 Abraham is finishing his life and preparing for both his and his sons future. He has purchased a plot for himself and makes his servant suspected to be Eliezer the one he thought would inherit his possesions, promise to get Issaac a wife from his people and not to take him back. This is again acknowledging the promise that He was were he was going. I marvel at the servants faith in God and his leaning to God's directing his path. I have found myself numerous times not knowing what to do; I have asked God to direct my path and those are my best days. Isaac's marriage to Rebekah must have Abraham great peace.
