Good Morning Truth Seekers! Leviticus 21-22 turns toward the rule for the priest and family. His office supercedes his family, for he represents all of the families to God. He has to maintain his ceremonial cleanliness in order to intercede on behalf of the people to their God. His being rendered unclean would hinder sacrifices made to the Lord and therefore, people would continue to live without forgiveness and in guilt. Futhermore, God wants only what is of value to us for restitution. We cannot present that which means nothing to God in exchange for mercy. Remember the guilt and burnt offering are substitute for our life and blood on the altar. David said once, that he would not offer God that which cost him nothing. A perfect God wants a sacrifice like the one he makes; a lamb without blemish, spot or wrinkle. No throw aways for God, therefore, we should offer or throw at God as an after thought our worship, adoration, praise or money. God wants to be first in our lives. Is he first when it comes to your life?
Revelation of Christ is a better name for this book. John wrote this book while in exile on an island called Patmos. He was told by Jesus to write what he sees, has seen and those to come. he writes to the 7 churches names in the Roman empire. This book is full of imagery and you will need a good score card to sort it all out. Pray that the Lord Jesus will give you understanding of these things.
