Exodus 1-3: Mark 15:1-26

The Exodus is the continuation of Jacobs family in Egypt. More specifically, what happened after Joseph died. The Hebrews fell out of favor in Egypt, and were enslaved by the King. God heard their cry and promised to delivered them from the hand of the Egyptians. Moses was born and spared from death for this task. When he grew up, he got ahead of God, killed an Egyptian and fled to the mountains to hide. God called him by a burning bush and commissioned him to go to Egypt to get His people. Moses asked a good question, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?" God said, "I will be with you" God with us makes us more than enough for what he has ordained. I often ponder that same question, "Who am I that God can use me for anything?" I am still in awe of God and what he does even with me. Like Moses it is common to think that we are inadequate to serve or be used by God. But God it not relying on us, he is using us for his glory. Our weakness is what makes his strength obvious.

Mark 15: 1-26 Jesus is tried and handed over to be crucified. He was beaten, and was spat upon and remained silent and innocent, and that was his resolved to do His Father's will. I often wonder do we really understand the gift given to us? As we approach the Lenten season, I hope we appreciate that Christ did these things for God's glory and our good.
