Genesis 36-38;Romans 12

Good Morning Truth Seekers! I have been to Indianapolis the past three days to attend a church conference. It was refreshing and I had a wonderful time. I hope you are reading, wrestling and transforming! Genesis 36-38 begins with the introduction of the Edomites. I had said that lineage introduced someone in the text. Well it appears to be the descendants of Esau. Who is Jacob's brother. This info will come to light later. 37 Is the wonderful but sad story of Joseph: His father loved him, and his brothers hated him. Joseph had prophetic dreams. Meaning he saw the future, however, because of tribal customs it was an insult for him to suggest that his father and older siblings would bow down to him. This is why parents have to be careful in favoritism. We read in Romans that God has no favorites. He loves each of us the same. His brothers wanted to kill Joseph Reuben pleaded for his life, and Judah delivered him from bondage. Judah's role is a foretaste of what would come of his lineage. Salvation would come through his descendants. Keep your eye on him. 37. We see that Judah's life is less than perfect. He suffers great loss in the deaths of his sons, but more so, in the loss of his integrity. Tamar was promised Shelah, but Judah failed to deliver on that promise so she takes manners into her own hand and tricks him into sleeping with her by disguising herself as a prostitute. I know this is a lot; but as a widow her husbands father and family was to look after her. His next of kin was to provide for her. If not his father the oldest brother, even down to cousins. This person is called "Kinsmen Redeemer"

Romans 12:Begins practical living for those who are saved. It begins with live your life for Christ. A living sacrifice; a deadman has no plans. We are to use our giftedness for his glory and purpose. If you have ever wanted to know what would Jesus do (WWJD?) then here is a good list.
